Outdoors and Indoors

We have now transitioned into winter and the light tells its own story. I stopped at the National Trust Stowe gardens on my way home from Dorset for a short walk and a bite of lunch and found some lovely light. The gardens look towards the Stowe School which is imposing on the skyline across the lake. Closer to home the light at the Lodge was similar before the grey returned with the river at home high. The picture is of a run off from the main river which trickles when the river is low. It was not a trickle on Saturday. On Sunday the weather closed in deterring visitors to the Shuttleworth collection meaning that Paul and I had the place pretty much to ourselves and no problem getting a table for a coffee catching up with a couple of his serious plane watching pals for a lovely chat. I am lucky that there are both indoor and outdoor places to no matter the weather including some excellent small museums in Cambridge for another day.
