More Autumn Colour

It was nice to catch up with friends at Old Warden yesterday morning for a coffee and a walk in the Swiss Garden. As you will see in the photographs, the sky was threatening but there was plenty of colour to balance that out and a few droplets of water don’t do any harm. The raindrops provided a lovely jewelled frame for a leaf from a favourite elderly acer in the garden which is not far from peak colour. The moorhens did not seem to mind the overcast damp conditions either. A little watery sunshine on the Swiss Cottage was a bonus. There is colour all through the garden including in the fernery. It was good to see lots of people out enjoying half-term although the majority seemed to be there for the aircraft collection leaving the garden to me. It was also good to see my friend Paul continue to make his steady recovery from serious illness and who can resist a photo of a semi-naked Westland Lysander, certainly not us.
