The sun appeared yesterday after an unusually long period of complete cloud cover and the impact is simply to boost the autumn colours. The Lodge is resplendent with birch, oak and sweet chestnut leaves as the trees strip for winter. The acer in the garden is turning and soon will be bright red if there is not a storm to strip the leaves before it can turn. It is not necessary for there to be sunshine to enjoy autumn colours and I have included a selection of snaps from Anglesey Abbey at the weekend under the grey. I did get muddy shoes to take some photos of the trees in the parkland but it was worth it.
